Belgium-based consulting firm SHER Ingénieurs-Conseils in partnership with ARTELIA Eau & Environment was awarded the $990,000 contract to perform final technical studies and to provide advisory services to Songa Energy. In November we hosted field visits by SHER’s and ARTELIA’s European and Burundian consultants. The teams spent days in the field at both of our small hydropower sites – studying river flows, finalizing topographic surveys, conducting geological assessments, studying fish habitat in the rivers, and meeting local administration and community members. The team was able to get into and out of Burundi despite the COVID epidemic, and upon return to Europe they have been finalizing their studies and designs.
